Is Banksy Stuck Up?!

Is Banksy Stuck up?

Well, fellow Banksy fans I can say most positively yes!

An area that is often overlooked with collecting Banksy art is the ‘little stuff’, when prints and originals get out of the financial reach of us mere mortals financially it’s time to enjoy the smaller affordable and in my opinion much more fun stuff to hunt down and own.

Guess what it’s still a Banksy artwork and in some cases probably rarer than a print edition because less have survived the test of time and the original owners saw it as a throwaway item or stuck it in a book or on a car etc.

Yes I am talking about Stickers * Stickers * Stickers

I have had tremendous fun hunting down various stickers over the year almost all have been free or included in a product as an additional item.

A quite wide range of stickers have been available especially from the earlier days when they were available maybe at events or even at POW, these seem to be the most sought after seeing a couple of the examples here… now fetching upwards of £400-£500

There are fakes of course but I think these are easy to spot some don’t have any wording some have just been photographed and printed so loose resolution, some are just on cheap sticker paper produced by HP so gleaming white backs are too be avoided!  A lot of these stickers were made with FASSON crack back paper and show that name on the reverse.

Then we get to things like the stickers available in CD’s and DVD’s which seems to be something Banksy liked to do, great examples and I think by far the best official ‘Set’ available were the 4 stickers included in the special edition THINK TANK CD by Blur.

Then you should look at the Exit Through the Gift Shop DVD’S which had a variety of stickers famously the Rat Sticker which is a Banksy Classic, this end of the market is a good starting point to any collection.      Happy Hunting
